The Inclusionomics Podcast: Black, White, and Lots of Grey

Blog Post Graphics.jpg

What do you do when someone says, “You really should have fixed your hair,” or “You’re coming across as really angry”? Or more to the point, what do you do when the subtext is, “You’re too [young, old, fat, black, gay, other] for me to handle right now”?

That’s what we’ve been talking about in our first season of the Inclusionomics Podcast. By “we” I mean Stacey Gordon, Thelá R. Thatch, and Lisa Gates (that’s me).

The force behind the Inclusionomics podcast is Stacey Gordon, MBA. She’s the CEO of Rework Work, and a diversity and inclusion strategist.

Stacey brought along Thelá R. Thatch, MBA, PHR, SHRM-CP, founder of Management Resource Solutions. Thelá is a human resource, equity and policy Strategist, PhD Research Scholar and author.

I met Stacey because Victoria Pynchon, my former business partner at She Negotiates, hosted a meetup way back in the day and said, “You gotta meet this woman, she’s an MBA, she’s black, and she’s one of the smartest, most driven, most talented women I have ever met.”

Interesting how the word “black” sticks out, isn’t it?

Well...that thing that sticks out is what the Inclusionomics Podcast is all about. Our lively and timely conversations are all about powering up people who are on the edge. The edge of action, the edge of complicity, the edge of giving up. And we offer them the fuel to get clear, get heard, get included, and take action to make a positive impact in this world.

Here are a few episodes to get you started.
